Year Established

The institution was founded in 1887 as the University of Oregon Medical Department and later became the University of Oregon Medical School.

However, in 1981 its name was changed to Oregon Health Sciences University. The current name was adopted in 2001 when it was joined by the Oregon Graduate Institute of Science and Technology.

Location

Oregon University of Health Science main campus is located at Marquam Hill (colloquially known as “Pill Hill”) in the southwest neighbourhood of Homestead.

The main campus also houses two hospitals, the Oregon Health & Science University Hospital and a general hospital; Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

How To Gain Admission Into OHSU

While minimum academic qualifiers are subject to vary from one admission cycle to another, the latest eligibility requirements include the following:

Cumulative total GPA of 2.8
Cumulative score of 497 on the highest eligible MCAT
